Skystriker Instructions:
You will notice in the pictures above that I have solved
the dilemma of application of the pinstripes around the
cockpit. Particularly as a kids, did this ever go
right? God, what were they thinking when they made
that intricate layout and expected an excited kid to
have the patience to put those three stickers on right?
I made the cockpit pinstripes all one sticker. It
makes it much easier to apply, and you have no breaks in
the sticker. I apply that sticker first, because
you have to apply the other stickers below it. Put
them on first and then the cockpit and you might
discover it comes down too close (or over) the already
laid down stickers. Cut out the pinstripes exactly
on the edge of the printed surface, or even slightly in
from them. Leave the backer on and test them.
If they look good, peel back just a section of the
backer and cut it away. With the tails still
having the backer on, you don't have to worry about them
sticking to the wings and such. when you have the
front applied, peel off the end of the backer (the tail
of the stripe) and smooth it down as you want it.
Repeat with other side. The only other than I
recommend is coating the wing "red, white and blue"
stripes with packing tape. The reason being is
that even with the originals, the opening and closing of
the wings will destroy the ends. Just prevent this
by giving them a nice hard laminate. Other than
that, you can pretty much cut, peel and apply the rest
of the labels while just following the blueprints for
placement.
